Starlink Installation with Custom Cable Routing and Indoor Network Integration

Overview

Clear Telecommunications completed a Starlink installation and network setup for a residential property in Occidental. The project included exterior dish mounting, custom cable routing, and installation of networking equipment in an interior closet.

Mounting and Cable Routing

The Starlink dish was installed on the exterior of the home using a Gen 3 arm mount. Cable routing was done with outdoor-rated black Cat5e cable, reused from a previous Starlink kit. A Cat6 coupler was used for a clean transition between segments.

A wall entry point was drilled and sealed with white latex caulking. Inside, a vented shelf was mounted using a 2"x4"x2' Douglas Fir spacer to avoid interference with existing piping and support the installed hardware.

Network Equipment and Setup

The following devices were installed and connected:

• Dream router

• 8-port PoE switch

• One Ubiquiti U7 Pro outdoor access point

• One indoor access point (model TBD)

• Belkin power strip

• One 4-port surface-mount box with three white Cat6 modular jacks and one blank insert

• Four 2-foot and one 1-foot blue Cat6 patch cables
  

All equipment was installed in the interior closet and tested before completion.

Results

The Starlink system was installed and connected to a fully functioning home network. All components were tested and confirmed operational before the team left the site.
