Overview

Clear Telecommunications was hired to install a Starlink system for a residential property in Santa Rosa. The project required a flexible mounting solution and extended cable routing to connect the Starlink dish to a modem located in the garage.

Mounting Solution

To ensure proper dish placement and secure attachment, the team used a universal wall mount paired with a Starlink pipe adapter. This combination allowed the dish to be installed cleanly and safely on the client’s exterior wall:

• The mount was anchored using corrosion-resistant hardware.

• A level was used to ensure precise alignment.

• The installation point was selected to provide clear line of sight and efficient cable routing.

• All components were weatherproofed for durability and long-term performance.

  
  

Cable Routing & Network Setup

The client’s standard Starlink cable was not long enough to reach the garage, where the modem was to be located. The team extended the connection using:

• Two black Cat6 couplers

• One 25-foot black Cat6 patch cord, routed beneath the house

• One 5-foot thick blue Cat5 patch cord to complete the link at the modem

  
  

To enter the home, a clean access point was drilled near a vent screen. The entry was sealed with white latex caulking for a weather-resistant finish.

• Drill/driver set with wood and masonry bits

• Network crimping and test tools

• Level and mounting wrenches

• Sealant gun for caulking
