Clear Telecommunications was hired by a private homeowner in Sonoma to upgrade the property’s gate communication system and deliver a full Starlink internet installation. The project combined infrastructure modernization — replacing an outdated AT&T landline with a Comcast VOIP connection — with structured planning and implementation of high-speed satellite internet.

Gate Phone Line Migration

To ensure stable gate communication, the team replaced the old landline with a VOIP-based setup:

• Installed 140 feet of outdoor-rated Ubiquiti Cat5e cable, running from the gate’s entrance shed to the home’s wiring panel.

• Terminated the line with a white RJ11 modular end, connected directly to the Comcast modem.

• Routed the cable cleanly using bridge clips and staples, avoiding bends, strain, and weather exposure.

• Collaborated with the gate contractor to test continuity and confirm reliable operation before completing the migration.

Starlink Installation and Network Integration

Alongside the gate upgrade, the team completed a full Starlink installation tailored to the property’s layout:

• Conducted an on-site assessment to identify optimal dish placement with clear satellite line-of-sight.

• Mounted the Starlink dish securely and routed the cable through pre-planned paths into the home’s structured network panel.

• Used weather-resistant techniques and materials to protect all external cabling.

• Integrated the Starlink system into the home’s existing infrastructure, ensuring reliable high-speed connectivity across the property.
